Affiliates (parent and child accounts)
An affiliate is a separate business that is owned by the parent company. Each affiliate operates as a separate entity with its own set of users and beneficiaries.
The higher level account is referred to as the parent, and the affiliate accounts underneath that parent account are referred to as child accounts. Your account representative can set up this parent-child hierarchy for you so that you can manage and act on behalf of your affiliates. You can perform administration tasks, view reports, and approve and book deals for your affiliates.
Depending on their profile permissions, users who belong to the parent level account can view and act on behalf of the child accounts. For example, a user at the parent level could navigate to the child level to approve and book deals.
In addition, users who belong to the parent account can use the Multi-Currency Account that belongs to the child level to settle deals. When the parent views the list of available settlement accounts, the parent will see the child's Multi-Currency Account as well as their own accounts.
Users who belong to a child account cannot access the parent account however. The only exception is if the child account is given permission to use the parent's Multi-Currency Account to settle deals. Contact your account representative if you want to allow a child account to use the parent level Multi-Currency Account.
Note: You must have the relevant Administrator permissions enabled in your profile to be able to operate on behalf of affiliates. For more information on user profiles, see Creating or editing a user profile.
